Anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas has been arrested by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary in connection with a video that appears to show him slashing a boat in the English Channel with a knife. The 37-year-old, described as having no fixed abode, was apprehended after the vessel, which had an emergency responder on board, sustained damage.

Police are investigating the incident, which was live-streamed by Thomas on Tuesday. The video in question shows the moment the boat carrying approximately 50 migrants, who had travelled from Normandy, was allegedly attacked. These migrants were subsequently taken to Dover for processing.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life, destroying ships under the Aviation and Maritime Security Act 1990, and conduct endangering ships under the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. He remains in police custody. His supporters refer to him as Danny Tommo.

Far-right activist Tommy Robinson shared a video of Thomas's arrest on social media, framing it as an effort to combat what he called an "invasion of our country."
