Dennis Haskins, the actor widely recognized for his portrayal of Principal Richard Belding in the iconic 1990s sitcom "Saved By The Bell," has died at the age of 75, his agent confirmed to ABC News.

Haskins played the memorable, often exasperated, school administrator from 1989 through 2000 across multiple iterations of the "Saved By The Bell" franchise. His character was a fixture at Bayside High, known for his frequent encounters with the show's mischievous student protagonists and his signature catchphrase, "Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?"

His agent, Jay Schachter, expressed his grief, stating, "It’s a tragic loss. Everyone loved Mr. Belding and those of us who got to know Dennis, loved him even more. He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans. He always had time for them, no matter what." The cause of Haskins' death has not yet been released.

Haskins' tenure as Principal Belding began in the Disney Channel series "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" in 1989, which served as the precursor to NBC's "Saved By The Bell." He continued with the role throughout the original show's four-season run from 1989 to 1993. He later reprised the character for "Saved by the Bell: The New Class," which aired for seven seasons from 1993 to 2000, solidifying his place in television history.

"Saved By The Bell" remains one of the defining sitcoms of the 1990s, chronicling the lives and misadventures of a group of high school students. Principal Belding's stern yet ultimately caring demeanor provided a consistent, albeit often challenged, authority figure for the beloved characters.

Beyond his most famous role, Haskins had a prolific acting career with numerous television and film appearances. His credits include guest spots on popular shows such as "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "Mad Men," "How I Met Your Mother," and "New Girl," as well as roles in films like "A Million Ways to Die in the West." He also appeared on "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "Victorious."

Haskins last portrayed Principal Belding in a "Saved By The Bell" sketch on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in 2015, reuniting with several of his original castmates, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, and Tiffani Thiessen.
