An Israeli air raid on a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza has killed three members of the same family, including a six-month-old infant, according to medical workers. The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, also wounded approximately 10 other people.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah received the bodies of Mohammad Abu Mallouh, his wife Alaa Zaqlan, and their infant son Osama. The incident highlights ongoing violence in the region despite a ceasefire brokered by the United States last year.

Medical workers confirmed the identities of the deceased and the number of wounded. There has been no immediate comment from the Israeli military regarding the specific incident. The Gaza health authorities report that nearly 900 people have been killed since the ceasefire took effect in October.

Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud noted that Israeli bombing commenced on Sunday as Palestinians were being forced to flee their homes following displacement orders. Many were seen carrying personal belongings as they evacuated.

In a separate development, Israeli forces continued to demolish homes and civilian infrastructure in eastern Gaza on Sunday, within areas designated by Israel as military zones. Israeli jets also conducted air raids on Deir el-Balah, causing significant damage near a hospital.

Earlier this month, the Gaza Government Media Office documented at least 2,400 Israeli violations during the first six months of the ceasefire, including over 1,100 air raids and hundreds of shootings targeting civilians. These actions underscore a pattern of continued military operations.

Since October 2023, Gaza health officials state that over 72,000 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing conflict. Israeli officials had previously acknowledged the general accuracy of these figures. The preceding day, an Israeli attack resulted in the deaths of five police officers and a 13-year-old boy.

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas aimed at a permanent ceasefire have reportedly stalled. Both parties have accused each other of violating the terms of the existing truce, with Israel citing Hamas's refusal to disarm and Hamas pointing to the pause in talks due to Israeli actions.
