Liverpool have finalised an agreement to sign France forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to 123 million pounds ($166m), media reports said on Saturday.

The 23-year-old is set to become a significant addition to new manager Andoni Iraola’s squad, which is adjusting to the departure of Mohamed Salah.

The English club will pay an initial package of 106 million pounds ($143m), with potential add-ons that could increase the total fee to 17 million pounds ($23m), according to BBC reports. The Athletic indicated Barcola is expected to sign a five-year contract.

Barcola joined PSG from Olympique Lyonnais in 2023 and has since enjoyed a successful period, winning two Champions League titles, three Ligue 1 crowns, and two French Cups. He made 152 appearances for PSG, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists during his tenure.

His arrival follows a series of close-season signings for Liverpool under Iraola, including Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo on loan, French centre back Jeremy Jacquet, and Spanish forward Victor Munoz. These additions aim to strengthen the team's attacking and defensive options.

Liverpool's current attacking lineup includes British record signing Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, and Munoz. The team is looking to maintain its competitiveness in the league following Salah's exit.

Barcola had two years remaining on his contract with PSG. The club is also dealing with a long-term injury to forward Hugo Ekitike.

Liverpool are scheduled to host Nottingham Forest on Saturday as the Premier League season continues.
