Sean Peers has admitted to sexually assaulting a woman who had been drugged by her husband without her knowledge. Peers, 38, entered his guilty plea to one count of assault by penetration on September 15, 2024, at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

The woman's husband, whose identity is protected to preserve his wife's legal anonymity, stands accused of inviting 13 other men to abuse her within their family home in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester. The husband himself has already pleaded guilty to 60 offences against his wife and has additionally admitted to a fresh charge of rape and one of sexual assault, both occurring last summer.

Peers, from Stockport, was granted conditional bail. His sentencing will occur after the conclusion of the trial involving the remaining defendants. Another man, Keith Fotheringham, 59, from Dundee, has already pleaded guilty to various offences related to the abuse.

Eleven other men are still due to stand trial. They have denied abusing the same woman between 2018 and November 2025. The husband, who is no longer a defendant in the ongoing trial, will also be sentenced at the case's conclusion and is currently remanded in custody.

The trial, which began with a jury sworn in early September, has encountered several delays due to legal and practical issues. On Tuesday, the jury of nine women and three men, along with two female reserve jurors, were informed that the husband had provided a lengthy witness statement detailing his alleged actions. This statement has been disclosed to all defence counsel.

Judge Maurice Greene indicated that the statement contained extensive details and documents that legal teams were carefully reviewing. The jury has been asked to return on October 19, when the prosecution is scheduled to open its case against the remaining 11 defendants.

The other defendants facing trial are Philip Wild, 58, from Stockport; Jordan Wallace, 31, from Manchester; Alan Keelan, 42, from Manchester; Jonathan Kirk, 43, from Stockport; Robert Stewart, 70, from Stockport; Mohammed Sabir, 28, of no fixed abode; Graham Brougham, 74, from Northwich, Cheshire; Richard Townsend, 37, from Rochdale; Karl Lindsay, 55, from Taunton, Somerset; Daniel Rayner, 42, from Whitstable, Kent; and David Graves, 59, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

The case highlights a disturbing pattern of abuse where victims are allegedly drugged and subsequently assaulted by multiple individuals. The legal proceedings are ongoing, with significant attention focused on the prosecution's case against the remaining defendants and the eventual sentencing of those who have admitted guilt.
