A series of concerned phone calls from a mother to law enforcement helped authorities uncover an alleged plot to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House last weekend. The investigation led to the arrest of her son, 19-year-old Tycen Proper, who faces federal charges.

Authorities stated that the mother of Tycen Proper first contacted her cousin, who is the chief deputy of the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Ohio, on June 10, just four days before the event. She expressed concerns about her son's mindset and possession of weapons and ammunition.

Recordings obtained by ABC News reveal the deputy chief relaying his cousin's concerns to dispatch. He mentioned that while immediate danger was not apparent, the mother was worried about her son's state of mind and his interest in weapons. The deputy chief requested a local officer check on the situation at the Proper residence.

A dispatcher then alerted a Danville, Ohio, police officer to visit the home due to the mother's concerns about her son, including mentions of guns and ammunition. Shortly after, the mother contacted dispatch again, stating she wished to file a report. She indicated that guns and ammunition had been removed from her son's room and property, and he was likely to discover their absence.

When asked by the dispatcher if her son was suicidal, the mother clarified that she did not know his specific intentions but stated he wanted to leave that weekend with a group of people to "fight the corrupt government." This statement prompted further action from law enforcement.

By the end of that evening, Tycen Proper was taken to Knox Community Hospital for emergency medical admission, according to police records. These records also noted a history of suicidal ideations for Proper.

Federal prosecutors have charged Proper with conspiring against the United States, attempted murder of a U.S. officer, and firearms offenses in connection with the alleged plot. The details of the plot and the extent of the group Proper intended to join remain under investigation.
