Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, has strongly condemned the actions in Gaza, stating that "nothing is justifying this." "Hospitals have been targeted, schools have been targeted. Whatever the justifications and the arguments, nothing is justifying this," the Prime Minister stated. He also highlighted that over 1,400 Gazans have been killed since the October 2025 ceasefire ostensibly came into effect. He further noted that "almost 70 percent of the Strip has been occupied" by Israeli forces, who he accused of not fulfilling their commitments under the agreement, suggesting "different intentions."

The Qatari Prime Minister indicated that Israel had "undermined" Qatar's efforts to broker a ceasefire "from day one of the war." He also condemned an Israeli attack on Doha in 2025, which targeted senior Hamas officials involved in negotiations and violated Qatar's sovereignty. "We were attacked by Israel while we were mediating and trying to push for Trump’s proposal at that time in Doha. It was unacceptable and condemned," he said, calling it a precedent of attacking a mediator.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that playing the role of a mediator has been challenging but maintained that diplomacy behind closed doors is the most effective path to progress.
