The family of Shanice Brookes, 30, has paid tribute to her after she was shot dead outside a bar in Sheffield city centre. Ms. Brookes was on a night out when she was killed in the early hours of Monday outside the One Four One venue on West Street.

The shooting has prompted a significant police investigation. Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of murder. A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were detained near Stockport, Greater Manchester, and are still in custody as detectives continue their questioning. A 30-year-old man initially arrested in Sheffield has since been released and is no longer considered a suspect.

Beyond her personal life, Ms. Brookes was also dedicated to her professional and academic pursuits. She worked for a charity in Sheffield and was studying for a university degree, with plans to graduate soon. Her family noted her "determination, ambition and the bright future ahead of her."

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles emphasized the tragedy of Ms. Brookes' death, stating she was "in the prime of her life and was simply enjoying a night out." He added, "We should all be able to go on nights out and know that we will come home safely." The investigation is ongoing, with police appealing for information regarding a white Audi seen parked at the junction of Eldon Street and West Hill Street.
