The incident began when police received a call reporting shots fired at the In-N-Out Burger on Blue Lakes Boulevard at 2:29 p.m. on August 1, 2026. Chief Hicks stated that the exact number of deceased and injured individuals could not be released immediately as authorities worked to notify next of kin.

Multiple individuals were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center for treatment. Lynsi Snyder, president of In-N-Out, confirmed in a social media statement that an employee was among those killed, expressing condolences to the families.
