Israeli forces and settlers have injured six Palestinians, including two paramedics, in a series of attacks across the occupied West Bank governorates of Nablus and Bethlehem, according to authorities.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its crews treated a man who had been beaten by Israeli forces in Beit Furik, east of Nablus, on Friday. The organization stated it was working with the International Committee of the Red Cross to gain access to the man, who was arrested following the assault. Settlers also vandalized a Palestinian-owned vehicle in the same town.

In Bethlehem, three Palestinians sustained injuries after settlers attacked vehicles in the Abu Njeim area. Separately, an ambulance crew responding to injured individuals in the nearby Khalayel al-Louz area had their vehicle pelted with stones, resulting in injuries to two paramedics and damage to the vehicle, the PRCS confirmed.

These incidents occur amidst a backdrop of increased Israeli military activity in the West Bank. A recent two-day operation in the Qalandiya refugee camp led to 48 injuries. Palestinian monitors have documented over 11,000 attacks in the West Bank since the beginning of the year.

Since October 2023, Palestinian officials report that Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,182 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, injured approximately 13,000, and arrested nearly 25,000. These figures highlight a significant escalation in violence.

Human rights organizations contend that this heightened violence is intended to consolidate Israel's control over Palestinian areas. The United Nations Human Rights Office has noted that settlers, often accompanied by Israeli forces, frequently engage in attacks on families, arson of mosques, and destruction or confiscation of property.

Movement restrictions in the region have reportedly become increasingly stringent. In late July, a spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office emphasized the urgent need for countries to take action to end the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, particularly as settlement activity reaches unprecedented levels.

The ongoing violence raises concerns about the safety of civilians and medical personnel in the occupied territories and underscores the persistent challenges to human rights in the region.
