Powerful explosions rocked a Syrian army site near the town of al-Eis, south of Aleppo, on Monday, injuring at least four people, according to state media.

The cause of the explosions at the weapons depot remains unclear, but it has prompted authorities to urge civilians to stay away from the area.

Faisal Mohammad Ali, head of civil defence operations in Aleppo, confirmed that four injured individuals were evacuated from the site. Al Jazeera reported that a series of blasts followed the initial explosion, with the sounds audible from several kilometers away. Earlier in September, 14 people died and 11 were injured in an explosion at a weapons depot in Idlib province. A week prior to that, five people died in the same region when a vehicle carrying munitions exploded.
