US international cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has been suspended for eight years after being found guilty of match-fixing, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Monday. The ban, which is backdated to November 21, 2025, stems from three breaches of the sport’s anti-corruption code.

Reddy was charged in November with these offenses, which occurred during the franchise-based Abu Dhabi T10 League. His provisional suspension was in effect while the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Tribunal investigated the allegations.

The tribunal found Reddy, 26, guilty of attempting to fix or improperly influence matches. He was also found guilty of trying to involve another player in corrupt activities, although the ICC noted that this attempt did not succeed. Additionally, Reddy was penalized for deleting data and messages from a mobile device that were relevant to the investigation.

The ICC’s decision highlights the ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of international cricket. Bans of this length serve as a significant deterrent against corruption within the sport. Reddy last represented the USA in April 2025, prior to the charges being levied.
