The United States has deported far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos to the United Kingdom, authorities confirmed on Saturday. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the removal of the British commentator, stating he had "overstayed his welcome in violation of our nation's laws."

Yiannopoulos, known for his controversial views and online presence, was apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Thursday. He had entered the United States in May 2019 through New York City.

The deportation order followed Yiannopoulos's failure to appear for an immigration hearing earlier this year. A judge issued a final removal order on July 22. In announcing his detention, the DHS urged noncitizens who had overstayed their visas to self-deport, warning of arrest and deportation without the possibility of return if they did not comply.

Yiannopoulos, who has been active on social media platforms, has not yet publicly commented on his deportation. His usually active X account has remained silent since his detention. Previously, he was a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump's proposed mass deportation policies.

In a social media post last year, Yiannopoulos advocated for "zero immigration for the next 20 years." He has frequently targeted feminism, immigrants, and Muslims in his commentary. Reports suggest he may have been in New Orleans this week in connection with his work with musician Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.

Far-right activist Laura Loomer, an ally of Trump, celebrated Yiannopoulos's deportation, citing a long-standing feud between them. Loomer, who has used her social media to call for specific individuals to be deported, stated on Friday that Yiannopoulos would be returning to the UK. She also called for the deportation of leftist streamer Hasan Piker, who is a US citizen.

Yiannopoulos's deportation comes after he was detained by ICE. The DHS has been emphasizing enforcement actions against individuals violating immigration laws, encouraging voluntary departures for those in the country illegally.
