Vice President JD Vance announced Sunday that he and Second Lady Usha Vance have welcomed their fourth child, a son named Alec Neel Vance. The announcement was made via a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Vance, who is also a U.S. Senator from Ohio, stated that both his wife and their newborn son are "happy and healthy." He also expressed gratitude to the medical teams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit for their care.

"We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning," Vance wrote on X. "Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother." The couple's other children are Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.

The birth of their fourth child comes at a significant time for the Vice President, who was recently selected as the Republican presidential candidate's running mate. Vance has been an outspoken advocate for increasing the birth rate in the United States, often emphasizing the importance of supporting families in their decision to have children.

"I want more babies in the United States of America. I want more happy children in our country," Vance stated at the March for Life event last year. He added that it is the government's role to make it easier for young parents to afford and raise children, viewing them as blessings.
