Burnham's visit comes at a critical juncture in the conflict, with escalating Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. The Prime Minister met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and chaired his first meeting of the "coalition of the willing," a group established by the UK and France to coordinate international support for Ukraine.

A significant development during the visit is the UK's agreement to provide Ukraine with blueprints for British-made components of the Scalp missile, a French variant of the UK's Storm Shadow cruise missile.
